One of Jan's specialties is tutoring in American Business English and Etiquette, which can differ markedly from customs in other countries. For instance, Americans expect people to speak clearly and to the point; if you don’t “tell it like it is,” you waste time, and time is money.

Because Americans use the telephone to conduct business that would require a face-to-face meeting in most other countries, Jan has her students engage in extensive role play of phone conversations in business situations.
